God Is at Work through FBA

As a church, we’re committed to staying spiritually connected while we’re socially distant. Jesus taught us to love one another (John 15:12) so we’ve been working with members of our church body and staff to identify ways we can make a difference in the lives of others.

We're bringing church to you

church to you collage

For the first time in history, we began live streaming our Sunday and Wednesday services. Has it been hard work? Yes. But it sure is rewarding work at that! Our live stream is not only reaching members in our community, but we are reaching viewers in all 50 states and over 72 countries! This effort is truly a loaves and fishes story. We are giving Jesus what we have and watching Him multiply it!

We’ve heard from Dr. Stanley
Our live stream launched on March 22 with a powerful interview with Dr. Stanley by Lisa Ryan. Since then, Dr. Stanley greeted us by phone on Easter Sunday and then again in a special video greeting on Sunday, May 3. We thank God for protecting our Pastor during this perilous time and we hope to hear him preach again—in person—in the near future!

We're staying involved in our community
As our live stream began to air, our socially distant service team launched "We Care" for our community. Ninety-two volunteers signed up to make delivery runs, pray over and respond to prayer requests and meet additional ministry needs through This email address is being protected from spambots. Since the first week of April, we've had more than 30 staff members man the phone lines to connect with our church members and attenders who are ages 70+. The phone call drive reached nearly 2,600 people!

After receiving an encouragement request from Cedarhurst Assisted Living Facility, our Preschool, God’s Masterpieces and Children's ministry teams embraced the opportunity to create care cards and notes for their residents.

Easter weekend was certainly unique this year, but it didn't stop our "Forget Me Not" local mission team from sharing the love of Christ with our community. Throughout the week, our members and attenders sent in hundreds of items that created 280 Easter baskets for three assisted living facilities – and we still have the potential to make two more deliveries!

Just weeks ago, our Children's and God’s Masterpieces ministries partnered with local missionary Idong Ekandem to collect soup and crackers for those who are sick in the Clarkston Refugee community. We are still in the process of collecting items. If you’d like to participate, FBA offers a "no contact delivery" box to ensure safe deliveries and donations.

Shelter-in-place orders didn't stop FBA choir member Mark Green and his family from spreading the Gospel when they began creating "Scripture masks" in March. In fact, Mark has made over 1,100 masks for local communities in Georgia and across the country – from hospitals to nursing homes and doctors' offices to rehabilitation centers. Green isn't accepting donations at this time as he says it's just his "blessing to help those in need." This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We're hosting blood drives to save lives

Hundreds of thousands of blood donation appointments across the country have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that didn't stop our people from seeing the need and answering the call. In early April, we partnered with the American Red Cross to host our first blood drive in hopes of collecting 40 units of lifesaving blood over the course of five days. We had so many people donate in the first three days that the Red Cross completely filled their quota and didn't need to return for the last day!

The next blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28. Our goal is to receive 30 units of blood over the course of two days. Schedule your donation today!

We're getting creative – literally

This pandemic has taught us to become more flexible and creative than we'd ever imagined. In order to bring the best possible church experience to your home, we've featured a number of guest artists on our live stream to provide some extra encouragement to your week while our choir and orchestra are furloughed. Fortunately, it has allowed our Creative and Media teams to exercise their gifts and create new and innovative backdrops for you to enjoy from week to week. We are so grateful for those of you who have reached out to express your appreciation!

It's important for us to pray with and for those who have not yet received Jesus as their Savior, which is why we've created a virtual Decision Room. This provides the opportunity for live stream viewers to text "JESUS" to us if they are interested in learning more about faith or making a decision for Christ. We are excited about the new territory and our staff has been doing a wonderful job following up with individuals each Sunday afternoon.

We're ready to work
Even though our doors are not yet open to the public, it doesn't mean we aren't preparing for your arrival! We've divided our ministry and operations departments into two groups that get staff back in the building on a limited basis. Although we're anticipating the day we can gather together again, we'll continue to exercise great wisdom and yield to good judgement in efforts to keep our members and community as safe as possible.

We’re overcome with gratitude
Because of you and your faithful giving, we've been able to reach more people with the Gospel than ever before – and we couldn't be more grateful! During this transitional time, our percentage of online givers has grown from 20% to 65%!  In addition, we recently launched a text-to-give option that many have begun to use. And there are many people who are sending their contributions by mail. In whatever way you are choosing to give, just know that we are humbled by the overwhelming generosity of our church family!

Most of you probably saw the two videos we featured on the Sunday live stream in which 32 of our FBA staff members said, "Thank you for giving." A third such video is now under production and will air on an upcoming live stream. There's no way we could say "thank you" enough!
