Light Up the Dark Buckhead

Light Up the Dark Buckhead

Fridays | 8:30 p.m.–12:30 a.m.
Light Up the Dark is a street evangelism ministry serving Buckhead on Friday nights. We share good news about salvation through Jesus with tracts (provided), Scripture and personal testimonies. Because we are on the streets every Friday night, we have the opportunity to develop relationships and pray specifically for and with people.

Our ministry philosophy is that walking with Jesus is a joyful life and that salvation in Christ is good news. Because of our sin, we have all been in need of reconciliation to God and only Jesus Christ can provide it. You and I have it and we have the joy and privilege of sharing it.

The group meets at The King & Duke at 3060 Peachtree Road (parking on West Paces Ferry). Carpools can be arranged. Park your car and meet us at the southwest corner of Peachtree Road and West Paces Ferry. If you drive your own car, plan to pay about $10 for parking.

Light Up the Dark evangelists work in pairs – one man and one woman – for the following reasons:

  • Safety – working in Buckhead at night entails certain risks.
  • “Couples” are less threatening than either individuals or groups – we can approach anyone with less initial suspicion about our motives.
  • With one man and one woman on each team, we are in a position to speak to anyone we meet. Guys talk to guys; ladies talk to ladies.
  • Also, two are better than one – “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 ESV
  • Also, while one person is talking, the other can be praying for the interaction.

Because we work in pairs, it’s important to confirm the teams prior to Friday night. You would only want to come to Buckhead if you have a confirmed partner. If you know someone you want to partner with, that’s great.
