August 11 | Stone Mountain Park | Meet at FBA at 8 a.m.
Each year we make the journey to the top of Stone Mountain for a time of prayer for those battling cancer. During this time we have the opportunity to encourage local residents whom we meet along the way. A van will leave from the FBA parking lot off of Cotillion Rd. at 8 a.m., or you may choose to meet us at 10 a .m. at the trail that begins at the Stone Mountain Welcome Center.

Information on Nutrition and Cancer Prevention and Treatment
It has been estimated that 30-40 percent of all cancers can be prevented by lifestyle and dietary measures alone. The nutrient sparse foods such as concentrated sugars and refined flour as well as low fiber intake, consumption of red meat, and the imbalance of omega 3 and omega 6 all contribute to excess cancer risk.

Food abundant in portions of fruits and vegetables, especially sources of sulforophane, are very core. Protective elements in a cancer prevention diet include selenium, folic acid, vitamin B-12, vitamin D, chlorophyll, and antioxidants such as the carotenoids. Supplementary uses of oral digestive enzymes and probiotics have merit as anticancer dietary measures. When a diet is compiles according to these guidelines there would be likely at least 60-70 percent decrease in breast, colorectal, and prostate cancers at other sites. Such a diet would be conducive to preventing cancer and would favor recovery from cancer as well.

Some of the diets that are being used by our members for reversal, reduction and future prevention of cancer have been the Daniel Fast/Diet, the Makers Diet, the Hallelujah Diet, a general Whole Food-Plant Based diet, the Reboot Fast/Diet, and other variations. We are working to compile the latest sources utilizing nutrition for reduction, reversal and recurrence of cancer. These sources would be books, articles, DVD's, Internet links, videos and files.

Two insightful presentations on Nutrition were Dr. Omer Kucuk, MD Emory University in 2010 and Connie Ghannad, Hallelujah Acres Health Minister in 2011.

Two 5 minute videos present some of the latest scientific based information on nutrition for a diet to prevent, reverse, and reduce life threatening diseases of our day.
